What we collect and why

Location

If you tap “تحديد منطقتي تلقائياً” (detect my region) or use the Qibla compass, the app reads your device location on the device only to pick the nearest region or calculate the Qibla direction. Your GPS coordinates are not sent to us or stored on any server. Only the region you end up choosing is stored, as described above.

Stored only on your device

Cached prayer times (for offline use), theme, font size, favourite duas and reading position. These never leave your device.

Permissions

• Location (optional): region detection and Qibla direction, on the device only.
• Notifications: prayer alerts and reminders; you choose which ones.
• Internet: downloading prayer calendars, notifications, analytics, crash reports and ads.
• Exact alarms, foreground service, wake lock, audio: delivering alerts on time and playing the adhan.

Third-party services

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics): firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Google AdMob: policies.google.com/privacy. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your device's Google settings.
• Prayer calendars are downloaded from a public file host (GitHub Pages) based on Al-Manar's published calendars; only the region name is part of the request. The Hijri date is fetched from AlAdhan (aladhan.com) without any personal data.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data and do not share it for marketing. Data is processed by the Google services listed above on our behalf. We may disclose information only if required by law.

Security and retention

• All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS.
• Your anonymous record and settings are kept while the app is in use and removed on request.
• Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days; analytics data follows Google Analytics' retention settings (up to 14 months).

Your choices

• Deletion: email timesadhan@gmail.com and we will delete the data linked to your device. Uninstalling removes everything stored on the device.
• Turn notifications off in the app or in Android settings at any time.
• Deny or revoke the location permission at any time; you can pick your region manually.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
